Description

1910 Jeffries vs. Johnson Full Ticket, PSA PR 1. Following Jack Johnson's assumption of the Heavyweight Championship in 1908, the former titleholder Jeffries was wooed out of five years of retirement to reclaim what white America believed was rightfully theirs. On Independence Day, 1910, the overwhelmingly white crowd at Reno, Nevada saw their worst fears realized, as Johnson battered the overmatched Jeffries for fourteen rounds before his corner saved him from an inevitable fifteenth round knockout by throwing in the towel. Offered is a full ticket from the legendary event. Encapsulated by PSA, PR 1.
