1856 Bendigo vs. Bob Brettle Fight Ticket. Exceedingly rare, early boxing ticket was presented by a combat enthusiast on hand to witness a meeting between former British Champion Bendigo and "The Birmingham Pet" Bob Brettle. This appears to have been some sort of friendly exhibition, as the ticket claims to be "For the benefit of Bendigo," and the Champ's career is said to have ended in 1850, shortly before the official beginning of Brettle's. In any case, any period relic relating to the boxing history of Britain's most noteworthy 19th century practitioner is of enormous importance and desirability. The ticket measures approximately 2.25x3.5" and presents without any noteworthy distractions. A portion of a wax seal, perhaps the period equivalent of an authenticating hologram, appears at lower right corner.
