    Description

Circa 1900 John L. Sullivan Signed Photograph. Wonderful studio photographic portrait of the biggest name in the nineteenth century fight game is inscribed and signed by one of the hands that dispatched hundreds of brave souls that toed the line with the Boston Strong Boy. It's one of two autographed relics from the personal collection of a gentleman named Robert Leggett, to whom each article is dedicated. Here Sullivan signs in the wide lower border of the photographic mount, his black fountain pen ink radiating at a strength of 9/10. The image itself measures 3.75x5.5" in size, with the "Apeda Studio/AW Dreyfus New York" mount completing the dimensions at an even 5x7". Condition is remarkable, with the slightest hints of handling wear apparent only upon the closest of inspection. Evidence of scrapbook removal on reverse has no effect upon display. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
