James Corbett Signed Letter Lot of 3 and Signed Small Parchment. James Corbett was nicknamed "Gentleman Jim" but boxing great John L. Sullivan would beg to differ. It was Corbett who rocked the boxing world when he planted the previously undefeated Sullivan in a landmark event.

The bare-knuckled great, Corbett, signed three letters to a well-wisher in this lot. Each letter is written in Corbett's capable hand and has the customary fold marks. Worth special mention is a 3.5x2.25" piece of parchment signed and dated (Sept. 19, 1892) by Corbett a short 12 days after his historic win over Sullivan. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
