Circa 1970 Abe Attell Signed Photograph, Helped Fix the 1919 Black Sox World Series. This double signed Abe Attell photograph may be of as much interest to baseball fans as it is to boxing aficionados. Attell held the World Featherweight Title for six years, but in 1919 was charged with fixing the 1919 World Series through his friendship with gangster Arnold Rothstein. The 8x10" black and white photograph shows Attell with Tod Sloan, shaking hands. Attell signed the top "To A Pal Joel From His Pal Abe Attell." He then signed underneath as well, and scribbled out the start of another inscription. Signatures are 6/10 and 8/10. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
