    Description

Circa 1920's Benny Leonard Signed Photograph. Sportswriter Al Lurie called Leonard, during his time as Champ, "the most famous Jew in America...beloved by thin-faced little Jewish boys, who, in their poverty, dreamed of themselves as Champions of the World." The master pugilist, who held the Lightweight World Championship title from 1917 to 1925, signed this postcard-sized photograph for an admirer around the time of his reign. Black fountain pen inscription reads, "To My Friend Steve Howath, Sincerely, Benny Leonard." Ink remains in fine 8/10 condition. Photo itself is NRMT. LOA from Craig Hamilton / JO Sports. Additional LOA from Steve Grad & Zach Rullo/ PSA DNA.
