1927 Jack Dempsey Signed Letter Regarding "Long Count" Bout. The Manassa Mauler takes a philosophical tone in this response to a fan just two weeks after the his controversial loss to Gene Tunney in the famous "Long Count" fight. Dempsey writes, "I am undecided yet as to whether I will fight anymore, but in case I do, may Mr. Tunney be one of my opponents. Perhaps I did not get a fair break in Chicago, but we all get bum breaks in life. We must take them with the good ones." Closing signature in black fountain pen ink rates 9/10. Light toning and edge wear, with original mailing folds. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
