    Description

1888-1915 Jake Kilrain & John L. Sullivan Signed Cut Signatures Display. UPDATE: This lot now comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.

In one of the most storied bouts of the pre-modern era and and last bare-knuckle world heavyweight championship fight, Sullivan wrested the world title from Kilrain in the seventy-sixth round when Kilrain's corner threw in the towel fearing his life was in jeopardy.

Gorgeous matted and framed display (15.5x14.5") features a delightful artist's period rendering of the bout (5.5x7.75"), along with two inscribed and signed cuts (2.25x3.25" each) below in black ink. "Dec. 14th 1888, Jake Kilrain, Champion of America" (9/10) and "Compliments of John L. Sullivan, Jan. 28th 1915, Contentment let it be yours" (7.5/10). Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
