    1971 Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier I Souvenir Gloves & Program On March 8, 1971, Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali fought for the first time at Madison Square Garden in New York. Both were undefeated. Both were considered champions, Ali because he had never lost his title in the ring and Frazier because he had beaten just about everyone else, establishing himself as champion during Ali's absence from the ring. An epic battle ensued in which Joe Frazier emerged victorious, winning a 15 round decision and flooring Ali in the process. It was probably Joe Frazier's finest hour. Presented here are golden leather souvenir gloves given away to special ringside guests at the Ali vs. Frazier I fight at Madison Square Garden on May 8, 1971. These regulation-sized gloves are in fine condition with bold color and print and only mild wear exhibited. Also offered is a scarce official program to this well remembered event. It exhibits moderate exterior wear from handling and age. Light toning on the inside pages.
