1968 Muhammad Ali Signed Boxing Gloves. Muhammad Ali made a living out of signing his signature in the 1980's and '90's. The autograph collecting hobby was built around Ali, Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio as accumulating signatures turned into a huge business. When Ali signed these gloves, he was exiled from the boxing world for not joining the armed forces. The offered Everlast gloves (12 ounces) were signed by Ali during the most tumultuous point of his life. Both signatures are barely legible. The left glove is signed "Love Muhammad Ali 1968" in black felt tip while the right glove is free of notations. The dark brown surface and black marker don't seem to be perfect bedfellows. An important pair of signed gloves from boxing's main man. LOA from Craig Hamilton.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
