Rare C. 1910's "Heavyweight Champion" Jack Johnson Postcard SGC 40 VG 3 - The Only Graded Example! The fame of Jack Johnson has only grown over the last century. Johnson was the first African-Armenian world heavyweight champion from 1908-1915. The "Battle of The Century" between Jim Jeffries and Jack Johnson happened on July 4, 1910 in Reno, Nevada and is still a landmark event in both boxing and social history. It should come as no surprise these cards are the most coveted by collectors a century later. Offered is the one and only example of this post card featuring Johnson with the caption "JACK JOHNSON, Heavyweight Champion of the World." Graded SC 40 VG 3. This is the only recorded example found on the SGC census report.
