    C. 1915 Jack Johnson vs. Jess Willard "The Count" Post Card. On April 5, 1915 in Havana, Cuba, heavyweight champion Jack Johnson fought Jess Willard for the heavyweight title. It went 26 rounds before Willard knocked out Johnson (the Heavyweight Champion since 1908) who later claimed he intentionally went down. Later, Willard said, "If he was going to throw the fight, I wish he'd done it sooner. It was hotter than he** out there." Johnson admitted to lying about throwing the fight. Willard famously lost his title to Jack Dempsey in 1919. Offered is an unused post card called "The Count" that records the historic moment. Ad copy reads: "The Count" that made Jess Willard the Cowboy Champion of the World. Appearing with Miller Bros. & Arlington's 101 Ranch, Wild West." Overall Good condition with some creasing.
