    Description

19th Century Tintype Photo of Boxing Scene With Paper Holder. During the later decades of the 19th century photography was still a relatively new medium with new processes were still being developed, no pun intended. The tintype, or ferrotype is a photo were the image appears on the front of a piece of iron metal with a black lacquer finish or emulsion. The image is of eight men posing before a fight. The surface has some light wear and slight bubbling along the top edge. There are no major scratches. The paper holder has a gold metallic frame with wear and staining. A rare chance to own a piece of early boxing memorabilia.
