1910 T226 Red Sun Stanley Ketchel SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. Graded 86 NM+ 7.5 by SGC, one of four total examples and by far (a lone 40 VG 3 is the next best) the superior copy. Stanley Ketchel was born September 10, 1886 and enjoyed only 24 years until his death October 15, 1910. Although dying young, Stanley Ketchel did a lot of living, much of it involving violence in and out of the boxing ring. Even his death was shocking. Stanley Ketchel died as the result of a gunshot wound. A middleweight who would often fight heavyweights, Ketchel is believed to dream that his opponent insulted his mother before a fight which would fuel his boxing rage. If true, it served him well for his 52 lifetime wins, 49 by knockout. Ketchel even knocked down Jack Johnson. but not for the count and it cost him some of his teeth, some found in Johnson's glove. A virtually problem free card in Near Mint Plus condition.
