1910 T223 Dixie Queen Peter Jackson SGC 60 EX 5. Graded 60 EX 5 by SGC, one of two for the grade with none graded higher. Peter Jackson was born in St. Croix, Danish West Indies who learned to box in Australia. He was considered one of the greatest pugilists of his time. Jackson was denied titled recognition due to the prevailing social attitudes based in ignorance and hate. Although an obvious contender for the Heavyweight title, white boxers, including John Sullivan, refused to fight him because he was black. Jackson's 61-round dual to a draw with Jim Corbett (who would beat Sullivan) is the finest evidence Jackson deserved to be among to fight the best of his day. His 97-3-3 lifetime record does include the titles "Australian Heavyweight Champion in 1886 and "Commonwealth (British Empire) Heavyweight Champion in 1892. The offered collectible is one of the most sought after 20th Century brands with Jackson being a "key" subject.
