Description

1887 N184 Kimball "Champions of Games & Sports" John L. Sullivan PSA NM 7 -- Pop Two, None Higher! John L. Sullivan is considered to be the greatest boxer of his time. The holder of various championship titles, Sullivan was both a gloved heavyweight champion from 1882-1892 and the last bare-knuckle champion under London Prize Ring rules. Winning over 450 fights in his career, Sullivan would do exhibitions where he offered any US citizens as much as $500 for the chance to fight him. I would imagine all were a little richer but a lot more sorry. Our offered card is one of he finest known examples of his N184 "Champions of Games & Sports" series. Graded PSA NM 7. One of two cars graded NM with none higher from a total pop of just twenty-five submissions.
