    1880's Allen & Ginter N28 Pugilists Near Set (9/10) and N29 Pugilists Complete Set (8). In the late-1880's Allen & Ginter produced two series of tobacco insert cards dedicated to "The World's Champions" of sports. This lot offers all but one (N28 Sullivan) of the 18 pugilists featured in both sets. Overall, 13 cards have been graded or assessed by SGC. Includes: 1887 N28 Pugilists (9) - w/Carney (SGC 30 GD 2), Carroll (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), Dempsey (SGC Authentic), Kilrain (SGC 86 NM+ 7.5), Lannon (SGC 80 EX/NM 6), McAuliffe (SGC 50 VG/EX 4), Mitchell (SGC 50 VG/EX 4), Smith (SGC 40 VG 3), Weir (SGC 60 EX 5); 1888 N29 Pugilists (8) - w/Duffy (altered), Edwards (SGC 20 FR 1.5), Havlin (altered), Kerrigan (altered), La Blanche (altered), McGee (SGC 30 GD 2), F. Murphy (SGC 30 GD 2) and J. Murphy (SGC 30 GD 2). An N28 of John Sullivan is available elsewhere in this auction.
