1927 F52 Fro-Joy Gene Tunney SGC-Graded Trio (3). Fro-joy ice cream produced two 6-card sets, one featuring Babe Ruth, the other boxing great Gene Tunney. Collectibles from the Tunney are much more challenging to obtain to modern day boxing collectors. As advertised on the reverse of each card, the set was issued during the week of July 18th-23rd, 1927 and offered the same exchange option of sending in cards for "large reproduction of Gene's Tunney's autographed photo." The lot includes: #'s 1 Gene Tunney/Fighting Stance-Front View (SGC 10 PR 1), 2 Gene Tunney/Fighting Stance-Side View (SGC 20 FR 1.5) and 6 Gene Tunney/Standing In Corner (SGC 20 FR 1.5). Clearly, each card presents much nicer than the technical grade. Assessments are due to a small pin hole in each. Note: The other three cards in this set are available as a separate lot in this auction.Auction Info
