2021 Kobe Bryant Original Painting by Giovanni DeCunto with 1/1 NFT. The paper and textiles manufacturing town of Lawrence, Massachusetts might seem an unlikely starting point for an artist, but Giovanni DeCunto followed the same path as former resident and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Robert Frost before him, following his passion to national and international acclaim. His youthful skills would gain DeCunto entry to Boston University, where he was deeply influenced by the style of German expressionists and their bold experimentations between representation and abstraction.

That daring balance is fully apparent in the two original artworks presented within this Platinum Night auction, massive oils on canvas featuring the two greatest basketball players of the modern era. Thick paint application creates a dazzling kaleidoscopic effect, the image transforming before the observer's eyes at varying viewing distances.

DeCunto's work can be found in museums throughout the world such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston MA, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C., the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University and The City Hall of Padua in Italy to name a few, as well as inside the private homes of high profile celebrities such as Lionel Richie, Shaquille O'Neal, Tom Cruise and President George H.W. Bush.
