A truly massive ring from the rookie sensation!

2008 Boston Celtics NBA Championship Ring Presented to Center Glen "Big Baby" Davis. Our ring sizer only goes up to fifteen, but this truly enormous symbol of excellence slides right on past that mark, allowing us only to estimate that sixteen or seventeen is the size worn by the six-foot-nine, 290-pound giant from LSU. Davis' NBA career would span nine seasons, but his sole taste of Championship glory came in his first, after a six-game Finals battle with the Los Angeles Lakers that recalled those unforgettable Bird vs. Magic wars of the 1980's.

This gargantuan commemoration of that Beantown brilliance features green emeralds forming the logo shamrock on a veritable acre of diamonds, sandwiched between the glorious words, "World Champions." Left shank attributes the ring to Davis by surname and jersey number, with logos of the O'Brien Trophy (complete with another diamond), the Celtics (with another emerald) and the NBA. Left shank features another Celtics logo amidst text reading "Banner 17, 2008, 66-16, Ubuntu."

Translation: "Banner 17" refers to the seventeenth NBA Championship banner to fly over the Celtics court. The regular season record was "66-16." And "Ubuntu" was the team mantra, an African concept of community thinking, of the team over the individual.

Interior band is stamped "IGO/Balfour" and "14K," as well as a facsimile signature of legendary Celtics coach Red Auerbach, who passed away in October 2006. Total weight is a hefty ninety-six grams (96 g.). Pristine condition.
