Description
The game's greatest figure completes his "Tiger Slam!"
2001 SP Authentic Golf Tiger Woods (Authentic Stars-Autograph)
#45 PSA Gem Mint 10, Auto 10 - #'d 309/900. What a long,
strange trip it's been for Tiger Woods, set upon a course as a
toddler by a controlling father toward links dominance unseen since
the days of Bobby Jones, and certainly never from a young man of
mixed race. He'd spend over 500 weeks as the top-ranked golfer in
the world and win thirteen majors before his world came crashing
down around him, tabloid scandal setting ablaze his squeaky-clean
reputation. He'd drop to number fifty-eight in the world before
clawing his way back to the top again a few years later. But that return to the throne would prove to be short-lived, as serious injury drove Woods from the game entirely as he suffered through four surgeries to repair injuries to his back that left him barely able to walk, much less swing a club. But, yet again, Tiger would dust off the ashes and rise like a phoenix, leaving not a dry eye in Augusta as he sunk the winning putt in the 2019 Masters to complete yet another comeback that few dreamed possible.
This remarkable collectible finds Woods during the year he'd win the 2001 Masters to complete his "Tiger Slam" of four consecutive major victories, the absolute pinnacle of his Hall of Fame career. The offered trading card likewise reigns supreme, earning perfect 10 ratings for both the quality of the card itself and the blue sharpie signature applied by the greatest in the game. He joins Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky as the most transformative figures of their respective sports, and one need only examine the market trajectory of those gentlemen to calculate the possibilities for this elite investment piece.
