MJ's last NBA Championship & MVP season!

1997-98 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Chicago Bulls Jersey--Team Letter & Photo Matched! It's an unfortunate reality of the sports collectibles marketplace that every purported Michael Jordan game worn jersey must be regarded with a healthy degree of skepticism. As arguably the biggest sports star of the past half century, Jordan inspired demand for gamers that the supply could never satisfy, leading to a flood of "pro cut" jerseys to enter the hobby, identical in format to those worn by the legendary Hall of Famer but never having felt his touch.

For this reason, educated collectors tend to avoid any offerings lacking either a team letter or, even better, photographic proof of Jordan's use. This spectacular representation provides both, thus the undeniable certitude of authenticity that all the pretenders lack.

It's just the icing on top that this particular specimen dates to the icon's last Bulls stampede, a season that would conclude with Jordan's sixth and final NBA Championship and his fifth and final NBA MVP Award. The home white mesh beauty was linked to April 7, 1998 game photography by the experts at Resolution Photomatching, a contest that saw Jordan lead all scorers with thirty points in a 103-85 victory over the Washington Wizards franchise with which he'd conclude his Hall of Fame career.

The jersey entered the hobby in 2005 through the CharitaBulls charity foundation, and we include that organization's cover letter to renowned actress, director and collector Penny Marshall reading, in part, "Please accept this letter as a receipt for your payment of $10,000 to CharitaBulls in exchange for a Michael Jordan game-worn home (white) jersey from the 1997-98 season."

This most recognizable sports jersey in NBA history features red-on-black "Bulls 23" on the chest and "Jordan 23" on verso, the rear numeral bearing a perfect black sharpie signature sourced through Upper Deck with their authentication sticker. Lower left front tail is properly tagged "Nike [size] 50" with team logo swatch and "Length +4" flap tag. Solid game wear evident. LOA from CharitaBulls. LOA from Resolution Photomatching. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
