    Description

1990 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed "Air Jordan V" Sneakers from The Robert C. Scarpetti Collection. Inspired by a World War II Mustang fighter jet, the Air Jordan V's signature elements included flaming mids, lace locks, reflective tongues, and mesh side panels.

Michael rocked the "Fire Red" OG player exclusive 5's offered here during the second half of the 1989-90 season, when he led the NBA in scoring (33.6) and steals (2.8) and Chicago to the Eastern Conference Finals. For the style match, see the Three-Point Shootout on 2/10 (Getty Images 1077064772), the game where he wore #12 after his uniform was stolen on 2/14 (Getty Images 1173552), and Getty Images 72502559.

Displaying white leather uppers, black and red mids, and "23" in red embroidery on the sides, the pair exhibits light wear and contain size "13" tags inside. Each shoe is inscribed and signed "To Bob, Get A Job. Michael Jordan" in vintage 9/10 black sharpie. Bob Scarpetti is a retired police officer who was part of Jordan's security detail. Letter of provenance from Robert Scarpetti. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
