    Description

1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 PSA Gem Mint 10 - The Burgess Lee Berlin, M.D., J.D. Collection. For many of us, it was simply a reminder of a long-established truth. For younger generations, it was the revelation thereof. When the global pandemic slammed the door on professional sports for the first time in American history, a massive television audience was assured for the ten-part documentary that walked millions through the peerless hardcourt history of Michael Jordan in a Netflix special entitled "The Last Dance." Never before had Jordan's status as the GOAT been so universally understood and acknowledged.

Instantly, the ripple effects of the series were felt in the collectibles marketplace, where pricing for Jordan's iconic 1986-87 Fleer soared like a dunk from the foul line. It seemed as if the entire world had simultaneously begun a scramble for the most significant trading card of the past quarter century, and particularly those 315 (at the time of this writing) resting atop the PSA population of more than 20,000 submissions.

To those who might still scratch their heads at the exponential growth of pricing of the Gem Mint 10 Jordan rookie, we advise that it has become its own form of currency in a manner of speaking, and still a rather reasonably priced one when considering it in that light. Compare 315 Jordan rookies trading at prices exceeding $500,000 to 21 million units of Bitcoin trading at prices exceeding $50,000 and the potential growth of the former seems boundless.
