Description

1979-81 Vinnie Johnson Game Worn Seattle Supersonics Jersey. Most people only think of Vinny Johnson as a Detroit Piston, and understandably so, as he played ten of his thirteen pro seasons in the Motor City, winning two titles and starring as an instant offense sixth man appropriately named The Microwave. However, Johnson came into the league as a Sonic and enjoyed two successful seasons in Seattle, teaming with The Wizard, DJ, JJ, Downtown, Sikma, and Large Lonnie.

Johnson's unique skill set included superior quickness, ball handling and leaping ability, packed into a powerful 6-1 200-pound frame, which allowed him out-quick, out-muscle and score over opponents at will.

Here is Vinny's early home white mesh with "Sonics 15" and "V. Johnson 15", all screened on the front and back, respectively, in green, gold and white identifiers. The jersey shows very nice wear but also has some staining on the front which could be blood. A "Rawlings 44" tag (with "15" in vintage black laundry marker) and a faded extra length flap tag reside in the tail. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
