    An NBA Championhip-era gamer!

Early 1970's Walt Frazier Game Worn New York Knicks Jersey. Only twice in franchise history has the NBA Championship been celebrated by the City that Never Sleeps, and this is the man most responsible for keeping those insomniacs up all night in celebration. For a full decade, the six-foot four-inch point guard out of Southern Illinois University operated as the Knicks' floor general, winning it all in 1970 and 1973 wearing a uniform style identical to that which we proudly present here. While the absence of any year tagging during this era makes definitive attribution to one of those seasons impossible, we can report solid, sweaty wear that suggests a full season of Madison Square Garden action.

"New York 10" is applied to the chest of the white knit garment, those digits now hanging in retirement from the MSG rafters to mark another honor that joins Naismith Hall of Fame enshrinement and membership in the even more illustrious NBA's 50 Greatest Players class. The digits are repeated on verso beneath an arching blue "Frazier" at shoulders. A 10/10 black sharpie autograph adorns reverse. Interior collar holds "Gerry Cosby" manufacturer's label and local "Telco New York" distributor tag noting size "44."

While the time-tested style makes definitive attribution to any single season impossible, Clyde's seven All-Star, four All-NBA First Team and seven All-Defensive First Team nods effectively assure Hall of Fame-caliber action. For the true New York City sports fan, this is a representation that deserves a spot next to Mantle and Namath in a display of the Big Apple's post-war pantheon. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
