Circa 1982-83 Ernie Grunfeld Game Worn New York Knicks Jersey. Ernie Grunfeld is what you could label a basketball lifer. When his NBA days were behind him, the shooting guard went to the booth before eventually becoming a top-flight general manager. A gold medal winner, Grunfeld currently runs the Washington Wizards. Circa 1982-83 is this classic Knicks "Gerry Cosby [size] 42" gamer. For a short span, the Knicks dumped their royal blue for a darker blue. The style was adopted in 1979 and used through '83. Great wear is apparent on this mesh pullover with consistent puckering on the two-color tackle twill identifiers. "18 New York" is placed on front while "Grunfeld 18" takes form on back. White and burgundy outlines the shoulders and neck. Three labels appear in the tail: Knicks/Sand Knit exclusivity, Gerry Cosby and suspended size. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
