Circa 1966 University of Kentucky Game Worn Shooting Jacket. Adolph Rupp was a taskmaster of the highest order. But we will give the old curmudgeon an "A+" for aesthetics. Worn in the mid '60's is this eye-grabbing Kentucky shooting jacket. The outside is constructed out of a wool material while the neckline, sleeve ends and tail have white and blue striping which adds further personality. "Kentucky" is arched on the reverse in single-color navy blue tackle twill and shows extensive wear. Applied in the collar is a period "King O'Shea [size] 42" manufacturer's tag and "14" player identification swatch. A "Hunt's Athletic Goods Mayfield K.Y. King O'Shea" orange label hangs in the tail. We checked the records and Scotty Baesler wore "14 in 1962-63 while Bill Busey wore the digits from 1967-70. A photo will attend which shows a member of the Kentucky basketball team wearing a similar style jacket during the squad's historic loss to Texas Western. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
