    Circa 1950 Harlem Globetrotters Game Worn Warmup Shirt and Pants - From Family of Sweetwater Clifton. A notable multi-sport athlete credited with being one of the first African Americans to play in the NBA, Nathaniel Clifton joined the all-black professional basketball New York Rens after the war, and later was invited to join the Harlem Globetrotters in 1947. An inductee in 2014 to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the man better known as "Sweetwater" will go down as one of the most revered players in the early days of pro basketball.

    Presented here is a circa 1950 Globetrotters warmup uniform and pants that were consigned by the family of Sweetwater Clifton. An absolutely stunning ensemble, the set includes an original Trotters warmup shirt that has the proper "Wilson [size] 44 extra long" tag in the collar. Beautiful sewn-on tackle twill lettering is displayed on the back, while a No. 54 is on the left sleevadditionditoin, the lot includes a pair of circa 1950 pants. Waist has a chainlink embroidered "26 Coffey" swatch intact, which suggests that they may have not ever been worn by Clifton. Also, a "Wilson" manufacturer's tag is sewn in the waist.
