Description

2002-03 David Robinson Game Worn & Signed San Antonio Spurs Jersey. The Naval Academy isn't quite a hotbed for NBA talent. Colleges weren't necessarily knocking down The Admiral's door when he went to college. Amazingly, David Robinson hadn't played organized basketball until his senior year in high school. A growth spurt eventually turned him into a seven foot talent who was the first overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft. The Spurs took their chance on him and the rest, as they say, is history. Robinson and Tim Duncan made the Spurs into the model organization in basketball, and enjoyed an unparalleled level of consistency.

Our consignor, a pioneer in the NBA game-worn jersey genre, obtained this "Nike size 50" road jersey from one of Robinson's teammates. The jersey was worn in 2002-03 as his career was coming to its conclusion. "Spurs" and "50" are featured on front and the team name has a little silver spackletwill for added aesthetics. "Robinson 50" is sewn to the reverse of this Dri Fit type jersey. The reverse numbers have puckered slightly from NBA washings. A Nike size tag is joined by a "Length +4" tag in the tail. The inner side has washing instructions and Nike/year labels. Robinson signed the reverse in 9/10 black felt tip. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
