The Last Dance (and Jordan MVP) season!

1998 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Chicago Bulls Jersey with Charitabulls Letter - Photo Matched to 2/19 at Raptors! He was already the greatest name in the history of the sport before the COVID pandemic delivered a massive audience of homebound Netflix streamers to a documentary celebrating the sixth and final NBA Championship season of his peerless career. Who imagined he could soar even higher? Any collector who followed the Michael Jordan market as "The Last Dance" transfixed a global audience knows that it was just as an unstoppable a bull as His Airness had been as he stampeded toward the conclusion of that legendary second three-peat. The 1998 Chicago Bulls, and their six-time Finals VP, have now been twice immortalized--first on the court, and then in a ten-part documentary that spread the gospel to new generations and every corner of the basketball-loving planet.

With this thrilling red mesh roadster, Heritage Auctions is pleased to play our part in the celebration of this red letter vintage of professional basketball, the crowning glory of a decade that saw all eyes turned to the Windy City and the man who'd claim his fifth and final NBA MVP Award as he marched the team to its dynasty destiny. Like most of the best Jordan gamers populating the hobby today, this specimen entered the private sector through the CharitaBulls foundation, as a 2003 letter typed to a donor on team letterhead demonstrates.

But it's the paperwork from Resolution Photomatching that delivers the most unimpeachable proof of authenticity, as the experts at that service have definitively linked the mesh hole patterning to photography dating to a February 19, 1998 visit to the Toronto Raptors, who the Bulls trampled by a final score of 123-86 to record the fortieth of an eventual sixty-two regular season victories. Chicago extended their lead in each of the four quarters, thus giving extra playing time to the bench, but Jordan still recorded sixteen points in just over twenty-eight minutes of work, with four rebounds and five assists.

This road format is arguably even more famous than the home white, thus arguably the most recognizable American sports jersey that exists. "Bulls 23" spans the chest in black-on-white tackle twill, with the same fabric reporting "Jordan 23" on verso. A massive (10" long) and perfect black sharpie signature, applied under the auspices of Upper Deck Authenticated, underscores those rear numerals. Lower left front tail reveals "Nike [size] 50 labeling with a "Length +4" flap tag and "NBA Authentics" and "Chicago Bulls" supplemental tags.

Inclusive of the playoffs, which would end with Jordan's immortal clinching dagger at Utah in Game Six of the Finals, this game falls within the last fifty of His Airness' service to the Chicago Bulls franchise, one of the latest such garments ever to tempt a bidding audience. Game wear is appropriate for the attributed action at a minimum--certainly it is possible that more than a single contest appears upon its resume as not every contest has photography clear enough for successful photo matching. It's an absolutely monumental piece from a season that will forever stand tall in professional basketball history. Team letter from CharitaBulls. LOA from Resolution Photomatching. COA from UDA (autograph). LOA from MeiGray. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
