1996-97 Vernon Maxwell Game Worn Jerseys Lot of 2. Both the home and road jerseys from the San Antonio Spurs' 1996-97 season are featured here, each of which was used on the court by the sparkplug guard Vernon Maxwell. The Spurs had a poor season that year, famously known as the year David Robinson's injury and the team's subsequent 20-62 record turned out to be integral in securing the following year's top pick, Tim Duncan. Mad Max's home jersey is constructed of white nylon mesh, with "Spurs" and "11" in black on silver tackle twill stitched onto the front. The reverse reads "11" in the same style tackle twill, in addition to the black "Maxwell" stitched above. The road jersey is black nylon mesh, with "Spurs" and "11" appearing in black on silver tackle twill in the same positions as the home gamer, and "Maxwell" in white tackle twill on the reverse. Tail tagging on both jerseys is identical, a very simplistic Champion label, size 42. This generic tag indicates that these jerseys were probably Spurs "extra stock" and re-lettered for Maxwell upon his return to the team for the 1996-97 season. This is evident around the "Maxwell" on the home white jersey, where glue remnants and a very faint outline of the previous lettering can be observed. Acceptable wear to both jerseys is evident, with the "Spurs" name and "Maxwell" exhibiting light puckering. LOA from Lou Lampson.
