Description
1996-97 Scottie Pippen Game Worn Chicago Bulls Uniform, Purchased from Chicago Bulls. Scottie Pippen was needed to help turn the Chicago Bulls into champions. While Michael Jordan provided nightly highlights, the team could only go so far in the playoffs before being bounced. When Pippen arrived, it took some of the scoring burden off Jordan and the team began to make strides in its championship pursuit. In 1991, everything came together and the Bulls finally hoisted the Larry O'Brien trophy. Pippen enjoyed a Hall of Fame career and pocketed six championship rings and numerous accolades in the process. To our knowledge, this is the only Pippen jersey sold by the Bulls from the 1996-97 campaign. The winning bidder will receive the bid sheet from the Festabulls silent auction which originally offered this. The person who won the Pippen was also successful in securing the jerseys of Jordan and Dennis Rodman from the event. One letter of authenticity was created for all three of the jerseys. A copy of the original letter from the Bulls will attend.Pippen donned this "Champion [size] 48" jersey for more than a few games given the consistent wear exhibited. Moderate fraying appears on the two-tone tackle twill identifiers - especially the team name. Slight rippling appears on the front numbers from launderings administered. Embossed on the shoulder stirrup is an NBA gold logo worn exclusively in 1996-97. Sewn in tandem in the tail are Bulls exclusivity ("Body Length +4") and size labels. The inner side hosts a fabric content label. Pippen signed the reverse in 10/10 black felt tip. The ensemble is completed with Pippen's "Champion [size] 42" shorts. Two labels appear in the waistline: exclusivity and size ("33" written in black marker). Pippen signed the shorts in 9/10 black felt tip. Bid sheet from Festabulls silent auction. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Letter of provenance from the Chicago Bulls (copy of original). LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
