The most heavily documented example on the market!

1996-97 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Chicago Bulls Uniform with Bulls Team Letter--Photo Matched to Career-High Rebounds Game!

UPDATE: The included shorts have been definitively photo matched to five games, with five more probable photo matches.

    Move over, Dennis!

Though Michael Jordan earned his Hall of Fame immortality for putting balls through the hoop, and Rodman for retrieving those that rattled out, His Airness was earlier to the rebounds than even the Worm on March 18, 1997, snagging eighteen for his personal career-best in an overtime victory against the visiting Seattle SuperSonics. Less surprising is Jordan's dominance in points (32) and playing time (50:25), outplaying every man on both sides of the court in the 89-87 victory.

But the extraordinary, absolutely ironclad guarantee of authenticity may be the most exciting attribute of this white mesh beauty from Championship season number five, supplying every hallmark of assurance that a discriminating collector could dream. We'll begin the list with an April 2, 1997 letter on team letterhead to a Chicago ticket broker thanking him for his $50,500 donation to CharitaBulls, the Bulls' charity foundation--winning bids upon uniforms worn that season by Jordan, Rodman and Pippen. That original owner's silent auction bid sheet for this Jordan uniform is likewise included in the document file for this lot.

But that Bulls paperwork is rendered all but unnecessary by an even more undeniable format, a letter from Resolution Photomatching that confirms a definitive match of the jersey to game footage through mesh hole and stitch pattern analysis. The letter notes, "The jersey pictured above was one of multiple jerseys worn by Jordan in the game on this date, and was very likely worn from the start of the game until his substitution at 4:20 in the 3rd quarter."

The jersey format is one of the most recognizable in post-war sports, the home white style with red-on-black tackle twill identifiers proclaiming "Bulls 23" on the chest and "Jordan 23" on verso. We will always love the gold "NBA" logo worn at upper chest this season in honor of the league's fiftieth anniversary. Dual "Champion" tagging at lower left front tail denotes "96/97" Bulls exclusivity with a "Body Length +3" tailoring notation, and size "46." Appropriate game wear is evident.

The final piece of period documentation comes in the form of an Upper Deck certificate validating the bold black sharpie signature applied to rear numeral.

Matching shorts are not photo-documented but are clearly validated by their association with the jersey in the Bulls paperwork. Again, dual "Champion" tagging--applied at interior waistband--supplies the Bulls exclusivity and sizing information, with a number "23" applied to the latter in black marker. A gold NBA logo on right leg assures the vintage. An extraordinary full uniform from the greatest player ever with perfect provenance and a thrilling backstory. Does it get any better?
