1996-97 Kevin Garnett Game Worn Minnesota Timberwolves Uniform with Team Letter & Photo Match to an Undated Image. On offer here is KG's complete game worn uniform (jersey and trunks) from his second pro season. The home white mesh jersey reports "Timberwolves 21" across the front and "Garnett 21" on the verso, in triple-sewn-on black/silver sparkle/blue tackle twill and one of the most spectacular letter and number fonts ever conceived. The collar and arm holes feature black trim with a green pine tree motif and the left shoulder displays the NBA logo in gold (in honor of the league's fiftieth anniversary season). Meanwhile, the tail reveals two Champion tags (denoting size, season, extra length and exclusivity) and Steichen's Sporting Goods label (confirming season,set and exclusivity).Matching shorts display two different Timberwolves patches and the gold NBA logo patch, plus the green pine tree on black trimmed waistband. Interior tagging includes two Champion labels for size, rise, inseam and exclusivity. Furthermore, "Set !" and "21" appear in vintage black marker. The entire uniform exhibits light wear.
Comes with a typed letter of provenance (copy only) on Timberwolves letterhead which is signed by the team's equipment manager and athletic trainer. The jersey was also conclusively photo matched to an undated image from the 1996-97 season by Sports Investors.
A 1995 McDonald's All-American at Farragut Career Academy, Kevin Garnett was also selected as the national player of the year. From there he was off to the NBA, where he spent twenty-one seasons establishing himself as one of the top power forwards in basketball history. His numerous career accolades include fifteen All-Star selections, 2004 NBA MVP, 2008 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and 2008 NBA Champion.
