1996-97 Dennis Rodman Game Worn Signed Chicago Bulls Uniform Purchased from Chicago Bulls. There is little doubt Michael Jordan wouldn't possess six championship rings without the zany antics of Dennis Rodman. During Jordan's initial trip back into the NBA, his Bulls were no match for Shaquille O'Neal and the Orlando Magic. The Bulls didn't have enough power in the middle to deal with Shaq and Horace Grant. Enter Dennis Rodman. The colorful rebounding machine was instrumental during the team's second run. Blessed with an ability to sniff out any rebound, Rodman was the tonic needed for a turnaround. His enthusiasm rubbed off on the Bulls as the team rocked and rolled its way to three consecutive titles. This Rodman game worn ensemble was purchased directly from the Bulls and has the original bid sheet from the team. Our consignor purchased the entire set of Jordan, Pippen and Rodman in 1997 and the team wrote one letter for all three jerseys. A copy of the original letter will attend. The offered jersey exhibits excellent use characteristics with fraying and puckering on the two-color tackle twill identifiers. A lone Champion size tag is sewn in the tail. It has been confirmed that Rodman did in fact wear single tagged jerseys during this time period with the Bulls. Residing on the shoulder stirrup is a gold NBA silhouette, used only in the NBA's golden anniversary season. Located inside is a fabric content tag and "3" Extra Body Length" label. Rodman signed the back of the mesh masterpiece in 10/10 black felt tip. Also attending are the matching shorts The Worm wore. A Bulls exclusivity tag is joined by a "Champion [size] 36" label ("91" written in marker). The shorts show good use as well. We checked the auction archives and have not unearthed another Rodman jersey which has sold that was purchased from the Bulls directly. Bid sheet from Festabulls Silent Auction. Letter of provenance from the Chicago Bulls (copy of original). LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
