Description
1992-93 Michael Jordan Game Worn Chicago Bulls Uniform -- Photo Matched to Seventeen Games & 10/18/1993 Sports Illustrated Cover! The experts at both MeiGray and Sports Investors Authentication advise us that this jersey is the only one of which they are aware to have been photo matched to any season of the first Chicago Bulls three-peat, a distinction that should set this outrageous offering on a world record pace. This 1992-93 season saw His Airness complete that three-peat feat, playing in all seventy-eight games while averaging 32.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.8 steals per game.Jordan led the league in scoring for the seventh consecutive year and was named to both the All-NBA First Team and the NBA All-Defensive First Team for 1992-93. In the postseason, he elevated his performance even further, averaging 35.1 points per game across nineteen playoff contests. His performance in the 1993 NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns was legendary, as he averaged 41 points per game over six games-a Finals record. Jordan earned his third straight NBA Finals MVP Award, and then shocked the sports world by announcing his first retirement, citing personal reasons and the recent loss of his father.
So if you're looking for high drama and a legend at the absolute pinnacle of his powers, you've found it here. Jordan would switch out uniforms far more often after his return from his first retirement, so only uniforms from this season and earlier will demonstrate this manner of extended wear. We'll begin with a breakdown of the photo matches for both jersey and shorts before delving into a physical examination.

The jersey exhibits monumental game wear far exceeding any Jordan gamer we have previously encountered. The tackle twill identifiers announcing "Bulls 23" on the chest and "Jordan 23" on verso have softened considerably from the repeated cycles of sweaty wear and laundering, as have the tagging at lower left front tail that reads, "NBA/Champion 1992-93 Designed and Tailored Exclusively For Chicago Bulls, Body Length +3," and "Champion [size] 46." Loose threads at various places join mesh hole patterning as the primary data points for the multiple photo matches.
Shorts likewise demonstrate spectacular wear, even turning the drawstring at waistband pink from the sweat-induced bleeding of the red dye. Interior waistband is tagged, "NBA/Champion 1992-93 Designed and Tailored Exclusively For Chicago Bulls, Inseam +2, Rise +2," and "Champion [size] 36." The latter tag bears a handwritten "23" in black marker.
