Description

1990-91 Clyde Drexler Game Worn Portland Trailblazers Jersey Gifted to Medical Assistant. Basketball players deal with all sorts of maladies during a given season. The constant movement, up and down the hardwood, can wreck havoc on the legs and other body parts. Clyde Drexler experienced his fair share of bumps and bruises along the way during his run to the top of the Western Conference. This "Champion size 44" jersey was presented as a token of appreciation from the Blazers' medical staff to a local Portland medical team. An email trail tells the entire story and will accompany.

The Blazers main scoring option was dealing with a slight knee injury during the 1990-91 campaign and head trainer Mike Schminsky and a team doctor sought the services of a local medical team to provide electro-therapy and muscle stimulation to reduce swelling and help heal the Glide. The team gifted this gamer as a thank you at the end of the season. The jersey shows acceptable use and has fraying on the tough two-color tackle twill team name and numbers. "Drexler 22" is straight sewn to the reverse. Of special note is the tail tagging. Four labels are secured in the lower region: "4" L.B.," "90" (year), Trailblazers exclusivity and Champion size. The Trailblazers exclusivity tag is a Sand Knit version while the size tag was Champion inspired. It was a transition year for NBA jerseys and this was the first full season the NBA used Champion jerseys. Drexler boldly signed (8/10) the front white portion in black felt tip. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from SGC Authentic. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
