1989-90 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Chicago Bulls Jersey, MEARS A10. When one becomes so familiar at the pinnacle, it's easy to forget the climb. Part human, part super-human, part global marketing brand, Michael Jordan is properly remembered as the sport's consummate winner, but the offered garment finds the iconic Hall of Famer still at the brink of that destiny. It could be argued that the 1989-90 Bulls season from which this garment derives was the most consequential in the building of the Jordan dynasty, despite the fact that the team would, for the third consecutive season, find their route to the NBA Finals blocked by the Bad Boys of basketball, the tough Thomas/Dumars-era Detroit Pistons. With the signing of legendary coach Phil Jackson, the Chicago Bulls had all the components necessary to build a juggernaut.

Presented is the most recognizable athletic garment of American sports' last quarter century, a red mesh roadster immortalized over the course of a decade of utter NBA dominance. "Bulls 23" is screened to the chest in black and white, with the digits repeated in identical format on reverse. "Jordan" spans shoulders in stark white. Lower left front tail holds the full compendium of manufacturer's tagging: "MacGregor Sand-Knit [size] 44" with Bulls Exclusivity secondary label, and embroidered swatches reporting vintage (89) and tailoring modifications (2" LB). A flawless black sharpie inscription on the front gifts the jersey to Bulls statistician Bob Rosenberg, who supplies a letter of provenance on team letterhead.

Jordan would lead all NBA players this season with 33.6 points and 2.8 steals per game, as solid evidence as any of his supremacy on both ends of the court. He'd find still another gear in the postseason, once again leading the pack with 36.7 points per game, the second-highest of his playoff career.

The experts at MEARS assess game wear as "light," quite typical for Jordan who changed jerseys often. Impressed by the 100% original and unaltered condition, and by the Bulls team provenance, they assign their highest rating. LOA from MEARS, A10. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Letter of provenance from Chicago Bulls statistician. Photocopy of photograph signed "To Rosie" by Jordan picturing Rosenberg & Jordan together.
