Description

1987-88 Reggie Lewis Game Worn Boston Celtics Jersey. While the Boston Celtics organization has been blessed for decades on end, there is also a certain level of sadness endured by the men who sport shamrocks. One can't help but think of how Len Bias and Reggie Lewis would have transitioned the Larry Bird era. Bias died a day after being drafted. Lewis' star shined for six years before he died from a heart ailment. Oh the sadness of losing an athlete early. Lewis wore this "Sand Knit [size] 44" cheesecloth jersey when he dazzled the home crowd at Boston Garden. Each of the identifiers is crafted in single-color Kelly green and shows wear. Three labels appear in the tail: "87" (year), Celtics exclusivity and size (with "2" written in blue marker). Framing glue remnants appear on the right side and lowermost points of the "L" and "T" in Celtics on front. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
