1987-88 Kevin McHale Game Worn Signed Boston Celtics Jersey. There were several key moves engineered by Red Auerbach to restore the luster to a once proud Celtics franchise in the late '70's and early '80's. Step one was drafting Larry Bird in 1978 although he opted to play his senior season at Indiana State. Not far behind was trading the first pick of the 1980 draft in exchange for Robert Parrish and the third overall pick. With that pick, the Celtics selected Kevin McHale. So with one selection and wave of his magic wand, Red had what would become known as The Big Three in-place. Championships followed, and the Boston Garden was filled with happy patrons. McHale would go on to headline the Celtics frontcourt and dazzled crowds with an array of moves that were impossible to stop. Basketball's top contortionist plied his trade while wearing this home white jersey during the home portion of the 1987-88 campaign as he averaged over twenty-two points and eight rebounds a night. Moderate wear is showcased on this classic mesh pullover with fraying and identifier softness throughout. A stain (blood?) is found on front (tail region) and reverse as well. "Celtics 32" is proudly displayed on front with "McHale 32" spaced correctly on the reverse. A "MacGregor Sand Knit [size] 44" tag is joined by "Celtics exclusivity" and "87" (year) labels in the tail. McHale offers his personal authentication with a signature and "Good Luck" salutation. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (autograph).
