1986-88 Larry Bird Game Worn, Signed Boston Celtics Jersey. There was no bigger basketball star on the planet than this man as he suited up in the presented garment at the tail end of one of the greatest three-season runs in NBA history. Between 1984 and 1986, Bird had claimed all three NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, and a Playoff Finals MVP Award for each of his two NBA Championship rings (1984 & 1986). The 1986 Celtics are commonly cited among the greatest teams ever assembled, with celebrated sportswriters Peter May and Bill Simmons ranking them number one.

The 1987 Celtics would scrap their way to the Eastern Conference Championship in a hard-fought seven-game series with the Detroit Pistons, but Magic Johnson and the mighty Los Angeles Lakers would take the Finals in six, as they'd done two years earlier. It would prove to be the last edition of this storied Finals rivalry until 2008.

This road green knit is the most recognizable basketball garment of the decade, with bold double-threes underscoring "Celtics" on the chest and "Bird" on the back in white tackle twill. NBA logo patch adorns upper left chest. Proper dual "Sand-Knit" labeling appears at lower left exterior tail, reporting Celtics exclusivity and size "46." Bird signed the front in bold silver ink, completing this highly significant gamer from one of the most clutch players in league history. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
