    Description

1985-86 Patrick Ewing Game Worn, Signed New York Knicks Rookie Jersey. The Knicks' pinned their entire future squarely on the shoulders of Patrick Ewing after selecting him with the top overall pick of the 1985 draft. He didn't disappoint. The franchise center came within a jump shot of winning a ring and was always a dominating force in the tough Eastern Conference of the 1980's and 1990's.

Worn during Ewing's rookie season, this "Medalist/Sand Knit [size] 44" road jersey is accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from retired NBA notable Kermit Washington (dated "April 7, 1986"). Light, even toning throughout is exhibited, while "New York 33" takes residence on front and "Ewing 33" is supported on back. Stitched into the collar is a "Gerry Cosby" manufacturer's label, while the tail features 3 inches of extra length. According to the MEARS LOA, the labeling period of the Medalist/Sand Knit tag is 1985-86, and it notes a two-point deduction due to light wear. Signed in light ink by Ewing on the front, it is one of few Ewing rookie gamers to ever hit the auction block. LOA from MEARS, A8. Letter of provenance from Kermit Washington. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
