Description

1978-79 Bernard King Game Worn New York Nets Warmup Jacket. Despite a serious injury which derailed his career at the height of his powers, when he was one of the best players in the game, Bernard King's tenacity allowed him to endure over sixteen NBA seasons, overcoming personal strife, addiction and injury. The seventh overall pick of the 1977 NBA Draft, King's hardwood resume includes three All-American selections, four All-Star berths, a Comeback Player of the Year award and a league scoring title.

Here is warmup top from his first tenure with the Nets. The short sleeve red knit warmup jacket displays snap-button front, with underscored script "Nets" over the left chest and oversized "Bernard" arched on the verso, all sewn-on in white tackle twill. Other elements include white/red trim on the ribbed collar, sleeve cuffs and waistline, plus a "Rawlings 46" label in the collar. Soli wear exhibited. Please note that a portion of the underscore of "Nets" has degraded and there are two holes to the left of the sixth snap-button. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
