1972-73 Nate Archibald Game Worn Jersey. At six feet tall on a good day, and tipping the scale at one hundred fifty pounds, the speedy little point guard out of the University of Texas El Paso came by his nickname of "Tiny" quite honestly. But with talents in inverse proportion to his stature, Archibald earned both a well-deserved Hall of Fame nod in 1991, and inclusion within the even more exclusive brotherhood of "The NBA's Fifty Greatest Players" as announced at the 1997 NBA All-Star Game.

Presented here is a jersey that could be convincingly argued to be the most important and desirable Archibald in the hobby today. The distinctive style, and the lack of a captain's letter "C" upon the chest, allows us to definitively date the jersey to the 1972-73 season, one in which Tiny became the first, and so far only, player to lead the NBA in both scoring and assists. Named The Sporting News' NBA MVP as a result of his dominance, Archibald thereby assured his appointment to captain's status the following year.

The road blue Kansas City - Omaha Kings gamer exhibits heavy wear, with "Kings 10" applied in red and white tackle twill to the chest, and the "Archibald" surname underlining the number "10" on verso, adding an extra layer of desirability due to this unique role reversal. Proper "Rawlings [size] 40" label appears at interior rear tail. Seven inches of the left side seam has come loose but could be easily repaired should the winning bidder wish, as could the corner of the number "1" on the chest. Neither repair would be essential to ideal display however, as our catalog imagery should attest. Included in the lot is a copy of Archibald's 1973 Topps card, picturing him wearing this jersey or another identical in style. LOA from Lou Lampson.
