1958 Don "Bootsie" Buddin Game Worn Boston Red Sox Flannel. Don Buddin had a rather unflattering nickname, given to him by rabid Red Sox Nation. Because he had an uncommon propensity to boot the most common of grounders, Buddin was bestowed the nickname "Bootsie." Worn by Buddin during the 1958 season is this flannel jersey. The original garment has "Boston" on front with "24" featured on the reverse. The "4" numeral has pulled away in spots on the reverse. A few errant moth holes are found on both sides although they don't detract from the beauty of this timeless classic. Chain-stitched in the tail is "58" and "42 2" referencing the year, size and set number. A "Tim McAuliffe" manufacturer's tag is sewn in the tail along with a size indicator. Minor surface degradation vouches for use and ventilation holes are visible under both arms. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
