1970 N.I.T. Final Four Program & Final Game Full Ticket - Coach McGuire Shuts Down Pistol Pete! In the presser before their semifinal matchup, LSU's Press Maravich and Marquette's Al McGuire didn't hold back. Press said that "Watching a team like Marquette play defense is like watching grass grow." Al then grabbed the microphone from Maravich and retorted, "Well, if watching defense is like watching grass grow, your ass is grass and I'm the lawn mower."Marquette coach Al McGuire had two guys follow Maravich all over the court in the semifinal game and he was only able to get off nine shots. In fact, the Golden Eagles wouldn't let Pistol handle the ball until late in the first half. Marquette blew out LSA 101-79 and prevailed in the final over St. Johns, 65-53. The program and ticket both present well.
