    Description

    c. 1950s Ed Macauley Photograph - Image Used for his 1957-58 Topps Rookie Card. 1949 AP Player of the Year at St. Louis University, "Easy" Ed Macauley would become one of the first three players to reach the 10,000 point mark in the NBA, the first NBA All-Star Game MVP, and remains the youngest player inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (32 years old). Despite all of these undoubtedly impressive accolades, Macauley's largest impact on basketball came through his trade (with Cliff Hagan) that landed the legendary Bill Russell in Boston, shaping the course of hoops history.

Presenting in 8x10" format (mild wear/creasing exhibited with pinholes in the corners), this photograph shows Macauley posed with a basketball in his hands and head cocked looking into the camera. For this particular shoot Macauley donned the jersey (#9 as opposed to his typical #22) of fellow Hall of Famer Bob Pettit. Additionally, the image is one of very few known that were featured in the historic 1957-58 Topps basketball set - in this case card #27, his rookie issue.
