Description

1970s Pete Maravich "Pistol Pete" Signed Magazine Photograph. Many years after Pistol Pete's collegiate career was over, former LSU head basketball coach Dale Brown charted every college game in which Maravich played, and every basket he had sunk. Calculating the three-point line at nineteen feet nine inches from the rim, a line that did not exist during Maravich's playing days, Brown was able to ascertain that the young superstar would have averaged thirteen three-pointers per game, which would have resulted in a career average of fifty-seven points per contest. As it currently stands, Maravich's 44.2 points per game and 3,667 total points remain the NCAA Division I records, despite the fact that the rules of the day prohibited the Pistol from playing varsity ball as a freshman.

Here we present a great signed photo that features an action shot (8.5x11") of Maravich at LSU rising for a shot. The reverse is laminated to provide support, signed "Pistol Pete" in felt-tip ink. Heavy creasing and folds found in the 8.5x11" page. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA.
