    Description

Late 1910's James Naismith Military Photograph Archive with Autograph & Chaplain's Flag. Five photographs document Naismith's service as a military chaplain in France in the years 1916 to 1918. Four are studio portraits ranging in size from 3.25x4" to 6x9". One photo shows some staining to the mount; another has scrapbook remnants on verso that do not affect the front. Balance is EX-MT. A fifth photograph pictures Naismith with two fellow chaplains, each identified on verso in Naismith's hand. He refers to himself as "Dr. Naismith," a unique autograph variation. Ink is 10/10, photo is EX-MT. Size 4.75x6.5". Completing lot is Naismith's personal chaplain's flag, measuring 30x36" in royal blue and white. Fine undamaged condition. LOA from PSA/DNA.
